Thanks !

June 18, 2010 By: Paul Category: Uncategorized

FreeNowich would like to take this opportunity to thank those who made this event a success.

The staff at Three Rivers Community College were professional and very accommodating to our last minute changes.  Particular thanks goes to Susan Moore from Dean Joe Smith’s office, Bob Martineau- head of security and to the maintenance staff.

Lee Elci was an adept moderator. He kept the evening flowing as well as lightened the tone on occasion. He was very gracious with his time, freely talking with anyone who had questions or merely just wanted to meet him.

We would also like to thank Julia O’Brien and Kathy Smith from CT-N network for keeping us on their radar screen and seeing that our label of  “E. CT’s right wing extremist HQ” is tongue and cheek. ( Yes a certain press release was sent to them within 10 minutes of us receiving one- think someone might have not wanted us to have TV )

Doug Dubitsky and Daria Novak did great jobs with the debate and in working with us on making a format all could live with. They both also have a full understanding of the issues which is quite refreshing in today’s political environment.

Thanks to the volunteers for manning the tables, collecting the questions and keeping those “radicals” in the audience in line!

Jen Ezzell from the 2nd District Tea Party Patriots and FreeNorwich. This woman can mobilize people like no other I have seen.

I would especially like to thank my partner in crime, Rich Curtis. Rich has management and organizational skills as one of the candidates mentioned was “presidential level.”

Lastly, I would like to thanks our wives. This took substantial time away from out families and without their support none of this would have come off as well as it did. Thank You Ladies!

  1. The Free Norwich debate was an important event in the 2nd Congressional district. Despsite the Peckinpaugh campaign’s poor attempt to brand the debate as bias it was anything but that.
The organizers were cordial to all that attended. The questions, many that came from “The People” were fair and well thought out. The candidates were informed and freely shared their views with the audience.
In my humble estimation, Daria Novak was the clear winner and if there was a loser in this, it was Janet Peckinpaugh herself!

  2. I would like to sincerely thank everyone involved in the debate this week, from those who spent many hours organizing it, to the participants who attended, and those who asked questions.

I especially would like to commend the organizers who were very thorough and patient as we discussed the details of this fair and unbiased event. They were gracious, listened to the concerns of all three candidates on the 2 hour plus organizing call, and gave us every opportunity to incorporate our thoughts and ideas into making this the positive event it turned out to be. We candidates could not have asked for more from each of them and the moderator, Lee Elci. This year, if both those seeking office and the voters step up to do our parts we can and WILL begin taking back this country in 2010.

This year it is critical we support active candidates — at all levels of office seeking — who have shown they have an ability to lead, are pro-active, and principled conservatives. I urge everyone here to find a campaign you can support and make it happen.

Also, I would like to invite you to the opening of my next headquarters tomorrow, Sat. June 19, from 2-4 pm in North Windham. It is on Route 6 across the street from the super Wal Mart next to the Silver Diner. We will be doing phone banking from both our Mystic and North Windham locations. Please contact my campaign is you can help at http://www.novakforcongress.com

Again, kudos to all invovled in this week’s debate. God bless and I will see you on the campaign trail in the days to come!

  4. Daria,

You have yet to answer my questions on the economy from about 3 weeks ago. I was unable to attend the debate because I run a little league in PLainfield. Do you want everyones vote or just a select few?

  5. Here are the questions as a refresher:

So why has no one asked the most obvious question at all….

With the rising deficit in America what will you do as a member of Congress to not just balance the budget but to start reducing the deficit every year. We need to start cutting into the deficit by $250 billion a year. That would reduct the deficit by $1 trillion in 4 years.

What will you do to get that in motion?
    Will you cut military spending?
    Will you cut educational spending?
    Will you cut welfare?
Will you cut social security and medicare?
How will you achieve that goal?

Talking about health care and the deficit is a very mute point right now because health care has not added to the debt. If it is truly the GOPs #1 thing to take care of as Linda Dwyer said then we are in trouble.

The deficit has to be the #1 issue at hand

  8. CTLibRepublican says:

    >What will you do to get that in motion?

Build a coalition of like minded Republicans and Democrats who want to get America’s financial house in order.

    >Will you cut military spending?

Yes and no. America’s military is in need of a drastic overhaul. Some things would remain untouched, other drastically changed. In short, the benefits, weapons, and supplies our troops need would be UNTOUCHED. The foreign base structure needs to be addressed though…it is still set up to fight the Cold War and not emerging threats from the developing world.

    >Will you cut educational spending?

Yes and no. The Educational System is another system that needs a major overhaul. We need to find ways to strengthen elementary and secondary education, while taking the money out of collegiate education and restructuring how federal dollars even go into it.

    >Will you cut welfare?

BY GOD YES! Especially that sham of a system known as “Social Security Disability” or SSDI. People are on SSDI for Depression and Alcoholism. These are conditions that are treatable. And this is just the tip of the iceberg…

Will you cut social security and medicare?

Yes and no. None of these are easy questions with simple answers. The system is broken. It needs a MAJOR overhaul to be brought back into line. Enough is enough.
